A YSplit card works like any other card at point of sale. Whoever is the bearer of the card can swipe or insert the card in order to pay. Where the YSplitcard differs is that we do not charge the card holder but everyone attached to your card. When you create your Ysplit card, you will have the ability to add anyone who is registered on YSplit. After adding everyone to the card, you are now ready to pay. After you have paid, everyone associated to the card is charged separately and equally. No one has to front a group expense nor do you have to track the group expense.
YSplit will use this information to debit your bank account when a transaction has been made that you are involved with.
If someone tries to use the card you will be notified regarding who just used the card. On top of this, our card can be locked to a merchant. This means that if the card is used at any other merchant other than the one the card was meant for then it will be rejected. Secondly, the user who creates the card has the ability to hide the card details from attached members. Lastly, anyone has the ability to leave a card whenever they desire.
You will have the ability to remove your funding source from YSplit if you wish to however all the cards you are a part of will become inactive until a funding source has been added. You will also not be able to create your first virtual card without a funding source.
We allow you to add your debit or credit card as a funding source on YSplit. So those of your without credit cards can still take full advantage of YSplit.
We do! You can access all of your referral information by logging into your account through our website. Once the person you have shared the referral link with adds their YSplit card to a subscription or bill, you will both get $10 off your next bill. There is no limit to the number of people you can add, therefore no limit on the amount of money you can make.
You will never get charged any fees for using the YSplit card. Some merchants, typically utility companies, do however charge a small additional fixed fee for attaching a debit or credit card to a purchase. We are not in control of this and this fee goes to the merchant, not us. Most online merchants will not charge you this merchant fee.
We charge the merchants a fee for accepting our cards at the checkout. This is called an interchange fee and is made from every transaction you guys make on the card.
You can now create your first virtual card. You can do this from either an online checkout if you have the chrome extension, our website or from either our Android or iPhone mobile apps.
Far from it, the first main difference being that with YSplit, everything is settled as soon as the card is used. No one individual incurs the initial charge, everyone is charged separately. If you use a traditional way of paying for a group, one person would pay for everyone, add the expense to Splitwise and then request the Money through Venmo. There is no chasing up with YSplit nor do you have to track an expense.
You can create up to 10 cards currently however if you wish to create anymore, feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We want to make sure that everyone who receives a card is the right fit for our product and this requires us to personally oversee every account that is created on YSplit. We will try and get to you as soon as possible so hold on tight!
We do not currently issue Physical cards.
You should use the name you used to up to YSplit with. If you were not the person who created the card and they have been given you permission to use the card you will have to use their name as the card holder name.
